Firefighters searched for bodies of victims in cars piled up in a tunnel in Alfafar, a suburb outside the city of Valencia, Spain, this Friday (1st).
Valencia opened a temporary morgue at a convention center following heavy rain and historic flooding. The death toll from the floods has reached 205, and authorities said the death toll was likely to rise.

It is the worst flood-related climate disaster in Spain’s modern history, and is also the one that has left the largest number of victims in Europe since the 1970s.
With around 75,000 homes still without electricity, firefighters transferred gasoline from abandoned cars to power generators in an attempt to restore domestic supply.
Part of the population accused the authorities of being poorly prepared and of not having warned people early enough about the dangers of the storm.
