Video: Horses invade pharmacy, cause damage and employees flee

Two horses broke into a pharmacy, broke products and scared employees who were working there. The unusual scene was recorded last Saturday (12/30) in Rio das Ostras, in the coastal region of Rio de Janeiro.

Images from the store's security cameras show the animals entering the store at around 7:30 pm and then employees fleeing to protect themselves. One employee even hid in a room.

According to the owner of the establishment, it has not yet been possible to account for the damage, but the businesswoman told CNN that the horses were very excited and ended up breaking tempered glass, shelves, as well as nail polish and other merchandise.

“The employees are very scared and my mother had to be hospitalized with high blood pressure. No one came to us and we released the video to try to locate the animals’ owners”, said Márcia Pereira, who also said that no one was injured.

Also according to the businesswoman, before entering the pharmacy, the horses damaged some products that were on the sidewalk of a market that also belongs to the family.

In a statement, the city of Rio das Ostras reported that the Animal Defense Center (CDA) was not called to collect the animals.

“After the episode, there were no more records of horses on the streets”, says the note.
