Video: how the addiction to computer games changed by country

On the Captain Gizmo channel, a “statistical” video was released, dedicated to games, or rather to the countries with the largest number of people addicted to computer games. The authors of the video presented statistics on the demand for importing games per thousand people, which gives an idea of the interest in games in different countries of the world from 1995 to 2021 inclusive.

The statistics took into account not only computer games, but also console games, arcade machines and all kinds of game consoles. It is worth noting that some countries, such as China and Japan, are not represented here, as they mainly sell local games and consoles. In 2008, imports declined markedly due to the proliferation of modern smartphones, which had a huge impact on sales of games and consoles around the world.

According to the video, the top three countries with the greatest gaming addiction for 25 years have almost invariably represented Hong Kong, the Netherlands and Singapore. True, the latter often lost its positions, temporarily yielding to other countries, and now Poland is taking its place.
