US Secretary of State Antony Blinken bought a vinyl of Taylor Swift's album “Midnights” during a visit to the LiPi record store in Beijing this Friday (26).
He also bought an album by Chinese rock musician Dou Wei after a local employee showed him some of the tracks.

When asked by the store owner what kind of music he likes, Blinken said he was “a little stuck in the 1970s.”
The visit to the record store took place after meetings with the President of China, Xi Jinping, and the Minister of Public Security, Wang Xiaohong.
Blinken raised concerns about China's support for the Russian military amid the war in Ukraine, as well as controversial issues surrounding cheap Chinese exports.
Underscoring the growing discord between the two sides, hours before Blinken landed in China on Wednesday, President Joe Biden signed a bill that included $8 billion to counter China's military power, as well as billions in aid from defense for Taiwan and US$61 billion for Ukraine.
