Video: Man breaks into terminal after bus delay in SP

A passenger organized a riot at a bus terminal in the extreme south of the capital of São Paulo after getting angry because of the waiting time for the bus. The case occurred last Wednesday (20). The man even threw a wooden window.

According to reports made on social media, the individual had been waiting for the bus at the Varginha Terminal for more than two hours when he rebelled. He was waiting for a bus on line 6072-10 (Jardim São Nicolau/Terminal Vinha).

Other users of the line recorded the action and the video went viral on social media. In the images, it is possible to see when a man, wearing a red shirt and jeans, grabs one of the terminal's information desks and throws it away.

The individual even punches one of the windows of a parked bus. Throughout the scene, passengers shout in the background as a sign of support.

Wanted by CNN Transwolff, the company responsible for line 6072-10, reported that a police report was registered on the case.

According to the bulletin, a witness, who works in supervision of the terminal, reported that three people, two men and a woman, damaged equipment at the bus stop. Furthermore, they allegedly tried to attack an inspector and a driver who were at the scene, but were unable to do so. Then, they left the terminal.

The company regretted what happened and apologized for the situation. “We admit that the operation is not up to Transwolff standards, but that does not justify this regrettable scene of destruction of public property. We apologize to the population and we will resolve these issues very soon.”

According to SPTrans, the concessionaire has already been notified. The company also assured that it is holding meetings so that the necessary measures can be taken so that the collective service is in accordance with the required standard.

Also according to SPTrans, when non-compliance with the travel schedule is found during monitoring, the responsible concessionaire is fined.

“All departures are monitored by SPTrans 24 hours a day, electronically, using GPS equipment installed on the entire fleet of buses that operate in the city's public transport system. When travel violations are found, the responsible concessionaire is fined.”

The São Paulo Public Security Secretariat reported that the Metropolitan Civil Guard and Military Police were called to the scene, but the perpetrators fled before arriving. The case was registered at the 25th DP (Parelheiros).
