A 42-year-old man was arrested in the act after setting fire to a shelter sofa at dawn on Monday (10). The case happened at Sebastião Hummel Street, in São José dos Campos (SP). The author was identified as Leandro Rangel Viela.
According to the police report, the shelter contained 22 people. During the incident, eight people were injured and four died at the scene.
The moment was recorded by a security camera, which shows the moment when the individual approaches the place on a bicycle, suits the fire and leaves.
The case was registered as a fire, murder and attempted murder at the São José dos Campos CPJ, which requested expertise from the site. Finally, the police investigate whether the motivation of the crime was revenge, as the perpetrator had disagreed with employees before committing the infraction.
