A man was attacked and had his belongings stolen by criminals, late Saturday afternoon (2), on Avenida Nossa Senhora de Copacabana, in the south zone of Rio de Janeiro. The robbery occurred around 6pm, a busy time in the region.
Security camera footage shows the moment the victim is approached by a group of young people and has his belongings stolen.
During the action, the man is punched and falls to the ground, knocked out. A third criminal appears and helps the accomplice collect the victim’s wallet and other objects.

After the robbery, the suspects flee down the sidewalk and the victim remains on the ground. The man is helped by people passing by.
In a statement, the Rio de Janeiro Military Police reported that agents were called to the incident and had already found the victim on the ground. The man was immediately taken to the region’s UPA. According to the police, the victim did not want to report the robbery.
The Civil Police also reported that, to date, the victim has not registered a report at the police station in the area. However, after becoming aware of the crime and the release of the video, the 13th DP (Ipanema) opened an investigation to investigate the case.
Agents are looking for other images from security cameras in the region to identify the attacked man and the robbers, as well as possible witnesses.
The Civil Police also requests that the victim contact the police unit and provide more information about the incident.
