A 58-year-old man took a snake to the hospital after being bitten by it on his right hand. The incident occurred on the 5th of this month, in Guarujá, a municipality in Baixada Santista.
According to the city hall, the patient arrived at the Perequê Emergency Care Unit around 3 pm and was holding the animal in a plastic bag. Look:
In a statement, the city hall stated that the man had reported that he was working when he noticed the presence of the animal and, at the same time, tried to remove the reptile from the location, but was stung.
The man explained that since he did not know the species of snake, he took the animal to the health unit so that the doctor could identify it and apply the appropriate serum for treatment. At the unit, he was medicated and later sent to Hospital Santo Amaro (HSA).
The Municipal Civil Guard (GCM) and the Environmental Defense Group (GDA) were called to collect the jararaca, which was released in Morro da Barra, close to the Santa Cruz dos Navegantes neighborhood, also in Guarujá.
