In a video published on the parish’s social networks, Father Genaldo Laurindo stated that the criminal entered the scene looking for him. Because he did not find it, he left for aggressiveness, breaking the image of the good Jesus and the image of St. Edwiges.
“We mourn deeply. We ask for your prayer and at the same time the understanding of the parishioners that in the coming days I would say until in the coming months, we will not have the two images replaced there in their place. But soon, with the grace of God and the help of our faithful, we will put these images back in their place, buy others, because they have no way to be reused,” said the priest.
The images are being analyzed by the Civil Police to clarify the facts and locate the person responsible for vandalism.
