A 24-year-old man has died after colliding with a forklift. on Monday afternoon (22), in Cidade de Deus, in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro.
According to the Rio de Janeiro Fire Department, the call was received around 3:25 pm. The victim is Brendon Geovani Guimarães, who did not survive the impact of the collision and died at the scene.
A forklift belongs to the Supermercados Unidos and, at the time of the accident, was operated by an employee of the unit. Security cameras at the establishment recorded the incident.
The video shows the employee operating the machine to unload goods on a street. A few seconds later, the motorcyclist appears approaching the equipment. When trying to pass between the forklift and the sidewalk, he is hit head on by the machine and falls to the ground.
A CNN contacted Supermercados Unidos and the state’s Civil Police for more information about what happened, but until the publication of this text, there was no response from either party.
