Video of Hamas gunman storming Israeli homes before being shot dead, IDF releases

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released a video, noting that in it we see a Hamas gunman who crossed the border into Israel and opened fire on the homes of innocent civilians before being neutralized by Israeli security forces.

The IDF released the three-minute clip – which appears to have been taken from the fighter’s body-worn camera – on X on Sunday.

“Her group of jihadists Hamas invades and kills an innocent Israeli community,” the Israeli military captioned the video. “Terrorist filmed was neutralized by Israeli security forces”.

The footage shows heavily armed Hamas men riding on motorbikes through an opening in the border fence that separates Gaza from southern Israel. The militants fire as they pass a checkpoint, which has a bullet hole, and then enter a neighborhood where they shoot at civilian homes, according to the video.

The gunman filming the attack shoots a shadowy figure moving into a house through the building’s door, then fires a bullet into the tire of a parked ambulance, the edited video shows.

They then drive past a playground as they reload and fire into family homes. They break into a home where music is still playing and a phone, tablet and drinks have been left haphazardly on a dining room table as they search for residents, according to the footage, the New York Post notes.

The video – which appears to be edited – ends with Hamas fighters outside as the sound of gunfire is heard. A gunshot is heard and the Hamas man screams in pain and falls to the ground. Several more gunshots are heard in the video, while the man cries and allegedly exclaims in Arabic “I bear witness that there is no God but Allah” and the camera pans up into a blue sky.

The IDF did not say when the video was shot, although it was likely taken during the Hamas attack on an Israeli kibbutz last Saturday, October 7.
