Video of Prigozhin before the plane crash – “For those who are debating whether I am dead, I am in Africa”

The last moments by Yevgeny Prigozhin before the plane crash they come to his “light”. In the video-document the leader of the Russian mercenary organization Wagner is in Africa and is sending a message to everyone wondering if he is alive or dead.

“For those who are debating whether I am alive or dead, how am I doing – now is the weekend, the second half of August 2023, I am in Africa,” Prigozhin said in the short video posted by the Gray Zone Telegram channel, which is linked to the Wagner organization.

“So for those who like to talk about my annihilation or my private life, how much money I make or whatever, that’s fine,” Wagner’s founder notes with a wave of his hand.

Reuters was unable to ascertain the location or date of the video, which was taken from inside a moving vehicle.

The camouflage uniform and hat worn by Prigozhin and the watch on his right hand match his appearance in a video released on August 21 that also claims to have been taken in Africa.

Prigozhin’s reference to a “weekend” suggests that the last video must have been shot on August 19 or 20just three or four days before the August 23 plane crash north of Moscow in which he and other high-ranking officials of his organization and his bodyguards were killed.

The comments he makes in the video, as reported by the Athens News Agency, show that Prigozhin was aware that his life was in danger.

Wagner’s forces fought for Russia in the Ukraine war, but he himself was highly critical of the Russian Defense establishment and led a failed mutiny in late June.

The Kremlin dismissed as an “absolute lie” the claim that President Vladimir Putin ordered Prigozhin’s death in revenge, but said the investigation into the circumstances of the crash would also look into the possibility of sabotage.

Prigozhin was buried at the Porokofkoge cemetery in his hometown of St. Petersburg on Tuesday.
