NASA astronauts Kathleen “Kate” Hallisey Rubins and Victor Jerome Glover went into outer space from the International Space Station for routine work. The whole process was recorded on video, which can be seen by everyone.

Keith Rubins and Victor Glover have begun work on installing the kits needed for the upcoming solar panel upgrade. NASA regularly posted progress reports on its Twitter page, adding that everything went well, after which the astronauts returned to the ISS.

The spacewalk was successfully completed. The work done by Keith Rubins and Victor Glover took 7 hours 4 minutes.

The astronauts had to attach the bracket and support legs to the mast body, the base of one of the P6 solar panels. One of the bolts didn’t fully fit into the hole on the first try, so Rubin used a drill and then a ratchet wrench to tighten the bolt securely in place. The work will be completed during the next spacewalk, which is scheduled for March 5.

ISS crew members performed 235 spacewalks during the assembly and maintenance of the orbital laboratory. To date, they have spent a total of 61 days, 14 hours and 11 minutes outside the station.
