The Will County Sheriff’s Office in the US released body-worn body camera footage of the shooting and killing of a grandfather and his grandson inside their home last year last Monday. The release comes after months of complaints about a lack of transparency on the part of the sheriff’s office about what happened. On November 6, 2021, officers responded to a call about an altercation between 70-year-old Eldred Wells and his 21-year-old grandson, Jabbar Muhammad. A relative of theirs, who made the call, said the young man had a knife and was fighting with the grandfather. According to reports, Muhammad was in crisis when officers arrived.
