A paragliding pilot was startled during a free flight championship held last Saturday (5) in Pancas, northwest of Espírito Santo. Shortly after takeoff, he was hit by a strong gust of wind, lost control of the equipment and fell into a forest area.
According to the organization of the 5th Open Pancas de Paraglide, the experienced pilot, representative of the municipality of Castelo, identified as Peterson, was unharmed from the fall. Peterson was stuck in a tree near the takeoff ramp and was safely rescued.

The pilot was attended by the Civil Defense teams, Fire Department and Health Professionals.
The organization of the event reinforced its commitment to the safety of the participants and thanked the work of the rescue teams. The championship continued normally after the incident.
