At least one person died and dozens were injured in a tram accident in the Russian city of Kemerovo, in southwestern Siberia, on Thursday morning (6).
Security camera footage obtained by Reuters showed the runaway tram spinning at high speed along tram lines in Kemerovo, with at least two people being thrown from the tram.

Reuters was able to confirm the location of the video as Kemerovo, Russia, from the road layout, road signs and markings, trees and poles seen in the video that matched archival and satellite images of the area. The date was confirmed by official and local media reports.
Russian news agency Interfax said in its report that up to 102 people were injured after the runaway tram collided with others further down the line.
Ilya Seredyuk, the region’s acting governor, said on messaging app Telegram that one person was in surgery and two others in intensive care at a Kemerovo hospital.
