A man was brutally beaten by three military police with kicks and cassettete blows During an approach at Rua São Pedro de Nova Friburgo, in Jardim das Imbuias, south of São Paulo, at dawn on Sunday (18).
A video caught the moment of the aggressions. It is possible to observe that the man appears lying on the floor and surrounded by three police officers. One of the agents stands out for the violence, discharging several continuous cassettete blows and repeatedly kicking the victim’s abdomen region.
Another PM also actively participates in the aggressions, while the third policeman watches the scene with a long gun in hand. Throughout the attack, the man screams desperately in pain, and the noise of the blows is audible, intensifying the impact of the scene. See below:
At the time of the approach, the police justified the action by finding that the man was in possession of a stolen motorcycle. After the assaults recorded in the video, the man was arrested and sent to the 101st Police District, where he remained available to the courts.
The case was registered as vehicle reception, motor vehicle identifier tampering and vehicle location/seizure.
The Public Security Secretariat (SSP), in a statement, stated that the approach “does not match the guidelines of the Military Police.” The police involved in the aggressions were identified and removed from their duties.
The Military Police launched a Military Police Inquiry (IPM) to investigate the facts. The SSP reiterated that “deviations of conduct or excess are not tolerated by the PM, who rigorously punishes agents who do not fulfill the corporation’s protocols.”
