Police in the state of Georgia, in the United States, made an unusual “arrest” after an alligator entered a residential neighborhood. The case happened on May 23rd.
Body camera video shared by authorities shows officers pulling the alligator from the driveway of a Georgetown home into the back of a squad car before safely releasing it back into the wild.

In a social media post, the Chatham County Police Department described the encounter as “just another day at the office,” while one social media user joked “did you read his rights?”
According to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, between 200,000 and 250,000 American alligators live in the state.
Still, between 1980 and July 2023, the department says there have been only nine reports of alligator attacks on humans, including one death in 2007.
