An attempted robbery ended with one person injured, last Tuesday afternoon (12), in Praça Varnhagen, in Tijuca, a neighborhood in the north of Rio de Janeiro. The incident caused the retention of a lane on Avenida Maracanã, according to CET-Rio.
A suspect ended up being shot after a failed robbery attempt in the region. Military police officers from the 6th Battalion (Tijuca) were deployed to investigate the situation on site.
A civil police officer reacted and shot at the criminals, who were on a motorcycle, injuring one of them. According to the author of the video, the agent was in plain clothes.
The police helped the injured man and took him to the Souza Aguiar Municipal Hospital. The health status and identity of the suspect were not disclosed.
The Military Police reported that they have reinforced patrolling in the region.
