Witnesses recorded police assaulting homeless people on the night of this Monday (12). The case occurred at Rua Marechal Guilherme, in the center of Florianópolis, in Santa Catarina.
In the images recorded at 11:24 pm Monday (12), you can see about six agents circulating two men. At the beginning one of the police assaults the back of one of them, after that the man retreats from the scene.
The officers come together around the homeless man, who appears to be sleeping in front of the coverage of a building. One of the agents burned the cardboard that was on the floor and beats the individual with the object until it also withdraws.
After the aggressions the police divided and left the scene in four vehicles.
According to a statement by the Santa Catarina Military Police (PMSC), the action will be the subject of military police inquiry, with the objective of ascertaining the situation and individualizing any conduct that may configure a crime by the professionals involved.
