Video obtained by Reuters shows a fire and what appears to be a drone strike and subsequent explosion at an oil depot in the town of Kalach-on-the-Don in Russia’s southern Volgograd region.

Video obtained by Reuters also showed a fire at a power substation in Rostov. The blaze was put out after Ukraine launched “dozens” of drones overnight, Vasily Golubev, the Russian region’s governor, said on Telegram, adding that the fire had been extinguished.

A security source who declined to be named told Reuters on Tuesday that Ukrainian drones attacked a Russian oil refinery, a military airfield and an electricity substation in a joint overnight operation by Kiev’s security and military intelligence agencies.

The source said the strikes hit the Akhtubinsk airfield in the Astrakhan region of southern Russia, an oil refinery in the Volgograd region and an electricity substation in the Rostov region.

The locations of the videos obtained by Reuters were confirmed by buildings, chimneys, antennas, roads, trees, poles, transformers and conductors seen in the videos that matched archive and satellite imagery of the area.

Reuters was unable to independently verify the date the videos were filmed, but official Russian sources reported that there was a fire at an oil depot in Kalach-on-the-Don and a substation in the Rostov region.
