Video: PUC-SP students protest and occupy university

Students from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP) protest and occupy part of the Perdizes campus, on Wednesday (21), as a form of denunciation to cases of racism and infrastructure problems of the site.

Last Monday (19), part of the ceiling of one of the university’s buildings fell, just when students gathered to discuss possible demonstrations. Another critical point was a rat found in the cafeteria this Wednesday.

The protest of students, through collectives and academic centers, addresses the neglect of the structure of the college and cites problems with the academic body.

According to a ‘proposed letter’, students require points of change from the university’s maintainer, including the elaboration of the anti -racist curriculum, quota implementation for transagers and gender and gender literacy course for teachers.
