When asked about the incident, Campo da Esperança Serviços Ltda informed CNN that no one was injured and no coffin was exposed. According to the concessionaire, erosions like this, although they have occurred on other occasions, are isolated cases, normally caused by excessive rainfall.
The company isolated the area and began repairs immediately after the incident, with the expectation of completing the work on Monday (20).
The cemetery adds that the causes of erosion are being analyzed by the concessionaire’s engineering team.
