The roof of a shopping mall’s food court collapsed last Wednesday (2), in the city of Maracanaú, metropolitan region of Fortaleza. The roof of the establishment gave way, causing a large hole and flooding in the area.
Videos shared on social media by people passing by North Shopping Maracanaú show the exact moment of the collapse.

It is possible to observe that after parts of the ceiling fall, there is a water leak.
In a statement, the mall’s press office reported that it was aware of the leak that impacted the food court and clarified that no one was affected and the location was temporarily isolated to identify the causes and necessary adjustments.
They also add that, this Thursday (3), the mall will open normally.
