A military policeman who was off saved the life of an elderly man who had choked during a Mother’s Day lunch in Maceió (AL). The case occurred last Sunday (11).
The soldier made the call to Heimlich’s maneuver, used to enable the disgust, realizing that the man could not breathe.

According to the soldier, realizing a riot, he headed to the bottom of the restaurant where he was and checked what was happening.
When visualizing the situation, he performed the first movements with less intensity. As the disgust did not work, in the second attempt applied the maneuver more firmly and the man breathed again.
After the normalization of the breath, the policeman realized that the elderly still had discomfort and asked him to drink water, because his own saliva was making breathing difficult.
Then the soldier called the Fire Department. When the team arrived, the elderly man was sent to the hospital, where he received care. Subsequently, he was released and remains at home.
