A video circulating on social media captured the moment in which several motorcycles passed through a street in Rio de Janeiro in front of the Lei Seca police, without being bothered.
In the images, it is possible to see that four police officers were part of the Dry Law.
Everyone stands there motionless, without any reaction. One of the police officers is using his cell phone to film the group on several motorcycles. In the video, you can see that there were even motorcycles without license plates.
At a certain point, it is also possible to notice when a person is surprised that they managed to get through the inspection.
“We went through the Dry Law… It’s the train!”
Then she celebrates by cursing, because they weren’t stopped by the DUI agents.
According to article 230, section IV, of the Brazilian Traffic Code (CTB), driving a motorcycle without identification plates is a very serious offense, subject to a fine of R$293.47, seven points on the driver’s license and the removal of the vehicle.
THE CNN contacted the Rio de Janeiro Military Police to find out whether the conduct and behavior of the officers were appropriate.
The report asked for a position from the institution and is awaiting a response.
