Video: Student assaults teacher after reprimanding mobile phone use in BH

One 48 -year -old teacher was assaulted inside the classroom At the State School Três Powers, in the Pampulha region, in Belo Horizonte. The incident, which took place last Monday (5), involved a 15-year-old student.

The aggression was recorded on video by a classmate. The images show the moment the student, upon noticing the teacher’s approach to enter the room, puts his backpack over his wallet and moves the door abruptly, trying to prevent the teacher’s passage.

Following, the student pushes the teacher, who screams and falls to the floor. She remains lying as the student raises her voice. After the fall, other students approach the teacher in the corridor. She gets up alone, and the student responsible for the assault repeatedly exclaims: “I played! I played!”

According to the deputy director’s report to the Military Police, the conflict began around 11:40 am, when the geography teacher scolded the student for using his cell phone during class, What is prohibited by school norms .

The teacher reported that, in drawing the student’s attention, he responded sharply and challengingly. Given the situation, the teacher sought support in the direction for the student to be referred to the secretary and his guardians to be contacted.

Upon returning to the living room and communicating to the teenager that the deputy director would seek him, he refused to go to the direction. The teacher then positioned herself at the door to prevent her departure. At this point, the student forced the passage, pushing the teacher, who fell. She tried to hold on to the student’s arm to avoid the fall without success.

The teacher also reported that the student had hostile, agitated, oppressive and resistant behavior from the beginning of the school year. Despite the aggression, the teacher did not have visible injuries or complained of pain at the time of care, dispensing with medical care.

With the arrival of the Military Police, the adolescent showed signs of anxiety, restlessness and constant agitation, behaviors that, according to the school team, are recurring, including disobedience, impulsivity and challenging attitudes in the classroom.

Those responsible for the adolescents informed the police that their child is diagnosed with hyperactivity care deficit disorder (ADHD) and challenging oppositional disorder (Todd). They reported that the young man was undergoing treatment, but at the time of the incident, he used only seizure control medication, as the specific medication for the disorders had been suspended by the medical team.

Parents stated that the school was not prior knowledge of the medical report, which was handed over to the date of the occurrence. The Civil Police reported that they have become aware of the case and that the investigation is under the responsibility of the specialized infraction police station in Belo Horizonte.

The State Secretariat of Education of Minas Gerais (SEE/MG) also commented on what happened. A team from the Regional Teaching Superintendence (SRE), responsible for the school coordination, attended the site to investigate the situation and prepare an inspection report, which will be sent to the Guardianship Council, together with the Occurrence Report.

The Educational Reception Center (NAE), composed of psychologist and social worker, will offer support to the teacher. Additionally, interdisciplinary work on nonviolent communication will be developed with the student’s class. SEE/MG reinforced its repudiation of any form of aggression and violence in the school environment.
