A surfer’s creativity caught the attention of social media last Wednesday (15). Paulo Guido is seen gliding through the waters of the Rio Doce Valley, in Governador Valadares, during the flood .
On his Instagram account, Paulo explained that his objective is to explore the different characteristics of the boards, testing how they behave with variations in the size and shape of the waves, depending on the volume of water present in the river.
In the images published by the surfer, he appears adventuring and performing maneuvers, taking advantage of the waves formed by the strong current. Look:
Rains in Minas Gerais
Minas Gerais faces a scenario of devastation due to the heavy rains that hit the state. According to a bulletin released by Civil Defense, 58 municipalities are in abnormal situation.
From September 27, 2024 (beginning of the rainy season) until the first half of January this year, 25 people died; 3210 people stayed homeless and 343 homeless .
This weekend alone there were 11 deaths, 10 of which in Ipatinga, one of the hardest hit cities .

There is a forecast of moderate to heavy rain in the regions of Governador Valadares, Montes Claros, Ipatinga, Teófilo Otoni and Governador Valadares, where landslides may occur in the last three.
Furthermore, there is also a likelihood of mass movement in Belo Horizonte, especially on urban slopes and due to possible falls of barriers on the side of highways.
