Suspects stole approximately 10,000 meters of synthetic grass from the company SoccerGrass, which presents itself as the leading company in the sports flooring market, with the most FIFA-approved synthetic grass fields in Latin America. Among the company’s clients is the Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras stadium, Allianz Parque.
According to the state Public Security Secretariat, in total, ten suspects, who have not yet been identified, participated in the action. The crime was caught on security cameras and took place in one of the company’s warehouses, in the Balneário Mar Paulista neighborhood, in the south of São Paulo.
The crime, which occurred last week, would have caused a loss of more than R$1 million to the synthetic grass supplier company, as reported by the Itatiaia portal. During the theft, the gang used two trucks to transport the material, which would be enough to cover a professional football field.
