The city of Aparecida, in the interior of São Paulo, was the scene of a storm on the afternoon of last Sunday (16), resulting in flooded streets and disorders for the population. The Civil Defense of the State of São Paulo had issued a severe warning to the municipality, maintaining the monitoring of the region.
According to the Civil Defense, the most affected neighborhoods were Santa Rita, Ponte Alta and Itaguaçu, where the Municipal Civil Defense is conducting surveys to evaluate the damage.
On Sunday (16), Aparecida recorded the largest volume of rain in the last 12 hours in the state, with 84 mm in the São Francisco neighborhood, according to data from Cemaden and Inmet.

Other municipalities of the Paraíba Valley also recorded high rainfall, such as Potim (81mm) and Guaratinguetá (45mm).
Despite the damage, there has been no record of victims so far.
For this Monday (17), the forecast indicates unstable time in Sao Paulo, with the possibility of weak to moderate rain in isolated points of the Paraíba Valley and northeast of the state.
