A drunk truck driver drove in the wrong direction, crashed into at least seven vehicles and tried to attack a military police officer on the coast of São Paulo.
According to the Military Police, the team was called after reports that a truck was traveling at high speed towards Guarujá, close to km 250 of the Cônego Domênico Rangoni highway.

The officers who responded to the call ordered the truck driver to stop, but he ignored them and continued on his way. Drivers on the highway were warned to stay away from the vehicle.
The truck driver accessed the Manuel Hypólito do Rego highway, where a vehicle was parked on the shoulder signaling another stop order.
Without stopping the truck, he accelerated and collided head-on with the police car. After turning 360 degrees, the man continued driving in the wrong direction towards Bertioga.
On the way, the truck hit a motorcycle, hitting the driver and the passenger on board the vehicle. The motorcyclist died instantly and the passenger was taken to Santo Amaro hospital with an exposed fracture in her leg.
Without stopping, the truck driver continued for another two kilometers, colliding head-on with five other cars. In the last collision, the truck lost control and left the road. The truck driver tried to flee through the bushes.
When approached by the police, the truck driver tried to attack the officers with a piece of wood. He was disarmed, handcuffed and taken to the 7th Police Precinct in Santos. At the police station, the truck driver underwent a drunkenness test, which confirmed that he was under the influence of alcohol and psychoactive substances.
The delegate ordered the arrest for the crimes of simple homicide, attempted homicide and bodily harm.
The truck was transporting a tank of glycerin.
