Video: truck is caught using cell phone flashlight to illuminate route on SC highway

A truck was caught on Thursday night (27) driving with only the light from a cell phone flashlight. The video shows the moment when the Federal Highway Police ordered the driver to stop on BR-282, near Nova Erechim (SC). Look:

The PRF agents suspected something was wrong when they saw something that, according to them, looked like a figure on the road. Looking closer, they noticed that it was a truck with broken headlights, which was emitting an almost imperceptible light.

“The driver claimed that the electrical defect in the headlights occurred during the route from Chapecó to Pinhalzinho, but he did not want to interrupt the trip,” said Adriano Fiamoncini, head of the PRF/SC Communication Center.

In addition to the problem with the headlights, none of the vehicle’s position lights were working and another “improvisation” caught the police’s attention: a woman’s bag strap was used as a seat belt. The cord was attached by a wire. Look:

The 26-year-old driver was not arrested. He was fined R$195.23 for driving a vehicle without mandatory equipment. “There is no crime for this attitude. Only a fine provided for in the Brazilian traffic code”, explained Fiamoncini.

According to the PRF, the overdue fines for the truck exceed R$2,700. The truck was removed to the agreed yard until regularization.
