Video: Trump-supporting ear bandages become a trend at Republican Convention

The latest trend at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, United States, is the use of fake bandages on the ears, a symbolic gesture of support for candidate Donald Trump by Arizona delegates.

Trump appeared at the convention wearing a large bandage over his right ear after being shot on Saturday (13) at a rally in Pennsylvania.

“We are helping President Trump define a new fashion statement,” said Arizona Delegate Susan Ellsworth.

“We are in solidarity with him for his injury. And we just want him to know how much we love him,” he added.

Fellow delegate Michael Schafer wasn’t sure if the trend would catch on.

“I don’t think it’s another MAGA hat,” he said. “I think it’s a moment. You know, the assassination attempt was the other day and I think it’s important today, but it won’t be next week.”

The four-day convention will culminate with Trump’s prime-time speech on Thursday (18), when he will formally accept the party’s nomination to face Democrat Joe Biden in a rematch of the 2020 race.

Who is Thomas Matthew Crooks, the shooter in the attack on Trump?
