The audio accompanying the images is not original. It actually comes from a video posted on the platform on October 19th. The sound was captured at a rally held in the city of São Gonçalo (RJ), which was attended by the President of the Republic and candidate for reelection, Jair Bolsonaro (PL).

The montage with Flamengo fans was published on October 20. The same audio has already been inserted into over 100 TikTok videos.

The team then performed Google searches using words such as “Bolsonaro”, “rally” and “São Gonçalo”, which returned publications from the Power 360, UOL and AFP about the political event.

The team also used Invid, a tool for analyzing videos and images. With the feature, it was possible to divide the recording into frames, used to perform reverse search on the internet. The original video of the match could not be found.

Video audio is shared on TikTok posts

Audio from the video in which Flamengo fans allegedly curse Lula as a thief has already been shared in more than 100 other videos on TikTok since October 19. The original publication was made by a user of the platform, identified as Leandro Melo, and concerns an excerpt from an event organized by the mayor of the city of São Gonçalo, metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro, Capitão Nelson (PL), with support from the his son, Douglas Ruas (PL), the second most voted state deputy in the state. The act took place on October 18 and was attended by Bolsonaro and the re-elected governor of Rio de Janeiro, Cláudio Castro (PL).
