Video: Victims of robbery and kidnapping are released by the Military Highway Police, on the Ayrton Senna highway (SP)

A truck driver, aged 42, and a helper, aged 36, were released by the Military Highway Police after being victims of robbery and kidnapping, on the afternoon of this Thursday (28), on the Ayrton Senna highway, in Itaquaquecetuba, metropolitan region of São Paulo.

According to the victims' report to the police, the two men were driving along the highway in a truck when a motorcyclist approached them and reported a problem with the truck's tire. When the driver and assistant got out to check, they were approached by two suspects, aged 22 and 25.

One of the men was armed and forced the victims into the car. At the same moment, the other suspect who was on the motorcycle fled with the truck.

According to the Public Security Secretariat (SSP), the agents who were at the base, located at kilometer 28 of the highway, were called and, during patrolling, found the silver vehicle.

The SSP also reported that the order to stop was given, but the driver did not comply. The police began monitoring and near a toll plaza, the two suspects disembarked and ran, but were caught by the police.

In a statement, the Public Security Secretariat reported that those involved were taken to the police station and the arrest of the criminals was ordered. The pair's gun and cell phones were seized, in addition to the car used in the crime, which was stolen the day before.

The Civil Police said they are continuing with investigations to arrest the third party involved in the incident and recover the stolen truck. The case was registered as a robbery at the Itaquaquecetuba Police Station.
