The case
A shootout in the upscale neighborhood of Jardins, in São Paulo, resulted in the death of three people, including a Civil Police investigator, on Saturday night (16). Milene Bagalho Estevam, 39 years old, was shot after going to a residence, with another police officer, to investigate a robbery that had occurred the previous day.
The owner of the house — businessman Rogério Paladino who, according to the SSP, “had convictions for homicide, bodily injury and environmental crime”, according to the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) – and a security guard at the residence also died, after exchanging gunfire with the policemen.
