A man identified as José Francelino Moreira, 47, died at dawn on Saturday (3) while working as a vigilante of stores in the Brás region of São Paulo. He was on Coimbra Street, around 3:45 am, when he was hit by a Celtic car. The driver fled without help.
According to the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP), images of video surveillance cameras of the region are being used in investigations and also showed that the victim had his cell phone stolen by a pedestrian who passed by the scene soon after the running.
According to witnesses of the case, the car who ran over Joseph followed, shortly after the crime, at high speed with the victim’s cap arrested to the hood.
The police record points to bodily injury, theft and guilty homicide towards a motor vehicle by the 30th DP of Tatuapé. José Francelino lived in Itaquera and was buried on the morning of Monday (5).
