Vila Isabel opens Rio Carnival Champions Parade

O Carnival not over yet! This Saturday (17), it takes place at Marquês de Sapucaí Sambadrome O Parade of Champions , responsible for bringing together, one last time, the six best-ranked samba schools in Rio de Janeiro of the year. Vila Isabel opens the event, starting at 10pm, sixth in the ranking.

The group presents itself with the plot “Gbalá – Journey to the Temple of Creation”, which is based on “Yoruba narrative magic”, where the corrupted world needs to return to its original principles of life. To achieve this, it is necessary to focus on children from all over the planet and take them to the “temple of creation”, so they can get to know the world in its original form, as it was conceived.

After passing through Vila Isabel, they perform at Marquês de Sapucaí: Portela, Salgueiro, Grande Rio, Imperatriz and the big winner of Carnival, Viradouro. The event is broadcast live on the TV channel Multishow and on Globoplay – also available to non-subscribers.

Milton Cunha, Alex Escobar and Karine Alves lead the broadcast alongside commentators Leonardo Bruno and Lucinha Nobre.
