After winning a 2023 Grammy Award on Sunday night (5), Viola Davis has officially completed the “holy grail of entertainment awards.

Davis’ victory on Sunday with her audiobook of her memoirs “Finding Me” (Finding Me, in Portuguese) completes the Egot collection, that is, she has already won an Emmy, an Oscar, two Tonys and now a Grammy.

She won an Emmy for her role in the series “How to Get Away with Murder”, an Oscar for “Fences” – with the title “A Limit Between Us” in Brazil – and two Tony Awards for “King Hedley 3” and “Fences” .

Viola won “Best Audio Book, Narration and Storytelling Recording,” according to a tweet from the Recording Academy, which hosts the Grammys.

In her acceptance speech, the artist paid tribute to her child self.

“I wrote this book to honor 6-year-old Viola,” she said. “To honor your life, your joy, your traumas, everything. And it was quite a journey – I just EGOT!

Davis’ career was filled with awards and firsts. In 2015, she became the first black woman to win an Emmy for best actress in a drama, and in 2017, she became the first black woman to receive three Academy Award nominations.
