The early hours of Monday (14) were marked by two crimes against women at the end of the line in the Calçada neighborhood, in Salvador (BA). According to the police, Girlene Miranda Ferreira, aged 40, was found stabbed to death, while another woman, still unidentified, was killed after being brutally attacked with sticks and stones in the same location.
The Civil Police of Bahia, asked about the relationship between the cases, has not yet confirmed whether there is a link between them.
The first crime would have occurred after a bar fight in which Girlene got involved with a man.
Witnesses told the police that she was attacked during an argument, and her body was found with stab marks.
Despite being taken to a health unit, she did not survive her injuries. The crime suspect has not yet been located.
In the second case, a team from the Department of Homicide and Personal Protection (DHPP) was called to check the situation of the other woman, who showed signs of torture, with injuries caused by stones and punches.
The death was confirmed at the scene. Police have not released information about the victim’s identity.
Both cases are being investigated by the 3rd Homicide Police Station (Baía de Todos-Os-Santos).
