During this weekend, the 18th edition of the Virada Cultural de São Paulo takes place, one of the biggest events in the capital of São Paulo that aims to promote culture in the different spaces of the city.
This year, the event will feature more than 500 free attractions, ranging from music shows and theater performances to film screenings and children’s events, which will be spread across 28 special stages, in addition to SESCs, Centers and Houses of Culture.
Unlike the last editions, the events that make up Virada Cultural 2023 will run until 10 pm on Saturday (27), returning from 10 am on Sunday (28). Only the Vale do Anhangabaú Stage will be active 24 hours a day.
Among the main musical attractions that make up this year’s line-up are Gloria Groove, Marina Sena, BaianaSystem, Pixote, Dilsinho, Ferrugem, Vanessa da Mata, Alceu Valença, Anavitória, Mart’nália, Roberta Campos, Tierry, Sidoka, Jorge Vercillo and much more. A tribute to Rita Lee, who died on the 8th of this month, will take place on stage in Vale do Anhangabaú on Sunday (see below).
In addition to the shows, the event will also feature artistic interventions, theater plays, workshops and dance shows, and special film screenings, which include the films “Super Mario Bros”, “Avatar: O Caminho da Água” and the exhibition of the 4K versions of “Flashdance”, “Cadillac Records”, “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” and “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert”.
For those looking for attractions in the center of the city, the Anhangabaú and São Bento stations will operate 24 hours a day for entry and exit. The other stations will operate in this scheme only for departure outside standard hours.
