Virada Cultural 2023: find out how the subway and buses will work during the event

Virada Cultural 2023, in São Paulo, takes place this weekend, on May 27th and 28th. More than 500 free attractions were announced, which will be presented on stages installed in all regions of the capital of São Paulo.

In Vale do Anhangabaú, there will be a 24-hour program. The other stages stop at 10 pm on Saturday and return at 10 am on Sunday. In addition, all arenas will have the so-called “Viradinha” from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on Sundays, with activities aimed at children.

The municipal administration invested BRL 40 million in the so-called “Virada Cultural do Pertencimento” and estimates that more than four million people will attend the event. In addition, it is expected to generate 1,800 indirect or direct jobs, with a return of BRL 400 million to the city.

There will be 12 arenas spread across all regions of the city. In the North Zone, there will be stages in Brasilândia and Parada Inglesa; in the Center, it will be in the Anhangabaú Valley and its surroundings; in the West Zone, it will take place in Butantã; in the East Zone, in Tiradentes, Itaquera and São Miguel Paulista; and in the South Zone in Campo Limpo, M’Boi Mirim, Parelheiros, Heliópolis and Capela do Socorro.

Metro and bus operation

The Metropolitan Transport Secretariat, of the state government, announced that Anhangabaú stations, on Line 3-Red, and São Bento, on Line 1-Blue, will be operating normally 24 hours a day during the weekend, both for incoming and outgoing passengers. passengers.

In the rest of the stations, in the period outside standard hours (between 00:00 and 04:40), only the exit will be open. The transfer to the other lines will be working for those inside the metro system.

At CPTM, the stations São Miguel Paulista, on Line 12-Safira, and José Bonifácio, on Line 11-Coral, which will host upcoming events, will remain open for boarding and disembarking. The rest of the CPTM stations will be open for disembarking, in the same scheme as the subway.

As for buses, there will be 150 Nocturno lines that will operate normally during the night. In addition, according to the municipal administration, 52 lines that serve 10 stages in the city of São Paulo will have their itineraries or points changed.

The security work will be carried out in partnership with the state government and with the hiring of private security guards.
