The first flights to carry customers are expected to take place in late 2022, the company, founded by billionaire Richard Branson, had previously announced.
Tickets had already gone on sale in August, but were closed until today for customers who were already on a waiting list. In November, Virgin Galactic announced that it had sold 100 tickets for $ 450,000.
These add up to the 600 tickets already sold between 2005 and 2014 for a lower price (between $ 200,000 and $ 250,000).
The opportunity to register is now available to everyone from tomorrow, Virgin Galactic announced today in a press release. A $ 150,000 deposit will be required.
The journey, which lasts 90 minutes in total, along with the duration of the ascent, is expected to start from the Spaceport America space base in the New Mexico desert, after “many days” of training.
