“Virgin Mary”: biblical film with Anthony Hopkins gets a date on Netflix

New film produced by the streaming platform Netflix, “Virgin Mary” got the first images and a release date this Tuesday (15).

Described as a “biblical epic”, the film stars Anthony Hopkins (“The Silence of the Lambs”, “Hannibal”). The plot seeks to delve deeper into the coming-of-age story of the Virgin Mary, one of the greatest icons of Christianity.

Anthony Hopkins will play King Herod, known to Christians for ordering the death of all male babies in order to kill the newborn Jesus.

The film is directed by DJ Caruso (“Disturbia”) and arrives in the streaming catalog on December 6th.
