A criminal organization involved in pedophilia, virtual abuse and dissemination of child pornography was the target of an operation launched by the São Paulo Civil Police this Friday (29).
“Operation Nix” was carried out in São Paulo, Pernambuco, Minas Gerais, Bahia and the Federal District, with arrests and seizures of suspects.
The group used social media platforms to commit crimes against minors, including virtual sexual abuse, inducing self-harm and even suicide.
According to the São Paulo Public Security Secretariat, a teenager of Descalvado, in the interior of São Paulo, was identified as one of the group’s leaders.
The other administrator was arrested in Pernambuco. His father was also arrested for managing the bank accounts used in the scheme.
Investigators are also investigating the network involvement in planning attacks on schools.
The operation remains ongoing, with searches for more members and evidence of the crimes.
