The Visa payment system has filed trademark applications that indicate the company’s plans to offer Web3 services to users.
In particular, Visa intends to provide users with the opportunity to make transactions with cryptocurrencies and non-fungible tokens (NFTs). In addition, the company plans to launch its own crypto wallet and develop software for auditing cryptocurrencies.
VISA also plans to provide its customers with a virtual environment and services for user interaction for “recreational, leisure or entertainment purposes in the metaverse.”
It was previously reported that Blockchain.com is launching a cryptocurrency debit card in partnership with Visa. In mid-October, Visa’s direct competitor, the MasterCard payment system, announced the start of cooperation with Paxos to stimulate demand for crypto assets among customers of traditional banks.
