Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias will pay a visit to India on Tuesday 22 – Wednesday 23 March. The visit follows the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of India Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar in Athens, on June 26, 2021.
During his stay in New Delhi, the Foreign Minister will be received by the Vice President of India and Speaker of the Upper House, M. Venkaiah Naidu.
The Foreign Minister will have private talks with his counterpart, Subrahmaniam Jaishankar. After the end of the extended talks, joint statements will be made to the Press (approximately 09:00 Greek time).
Discussions between the Foreign Ministers are expected to cover a wide range of issues, such as the two countries’ joint commitment to the principles of the UN Charter and to international law, in particular International Maritime Law, bilateral and multilateral cooperation (India is non- permanent member of the UN Security Council), as well as developments in Ukraine after the Russian invasion, the Indo-Pacific, the Eastern Mediterranean and other issues of international interest.
Finally, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will give a lecture at the Chair of Greek Studies of the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) (approximately 11:30 Greek time).
