Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin transferred 100 ETH, worth about $300,000, to an address belonging to the 2077 Collective organization to foster innovation and support the Ethereum network.

The transaction from the “vitalik.eth” wallet was reported by Chinese crypto journalist Colin Wu, who uses the pseudonym WuBlockchain on the X social network. The 2077 Collective positions itself as the unofficial marketing arm of Ethereum. It is made up of developers, researchers, and marketers who claim to be committed to “making Ethereum cooler” by promoting community initiatives.

The exact purpose of Buterin’s donation is unknown, but it can be assumed that he approves of the organization’s actions. The 2077 Collective thanked Buterina for her support and promised to continue working to increase the attractiveness of the network.

This is not the first time Vitalik Buterin has shown generosity. In May, he donated 30 ETH, which was valued at $113,000 at the time, to a fund to support the founders of the crypto mixer Tornado Cash, Alexey Pertsev and Roman Storm. By providing them with financial assistance, Buterin supported the development of decentralized technologies.

A few years ago, Buterin sold his SHIB, AKITA, and ELON memecoins for 15,719 ETH and donated the proceeds to several charities.
