Vitalik Buterin believes that some politicians who claim to be supporters of cryptocurrencies do not always clearly state their beliefs.
“If you see a politician who is pro-crypto, it’s worth studying their core values and seeing which side they’ll choose if there’s a conflict. The only thing they understand is that all they need to get your vote is to support crypto. You have to be careful with them,” Buterin said.
The programmer warned that the authorities of some countries where authoritarian rule prevails may verbally support digital assets and blockchain, but in fact are ready to change their position at any moment.
In addition, Buterin believes that political parties that are trying to demonstrate support for cryptocurrencies and attract supporters of digital assets to their side are in fact only striving for stricter regulation of the industry.
Earlier, the co-founder of Ethereum criticized the regulation of the American digital asset market. In a post on the social platform Warpcast, the programmer listed the problems faced by crypto project developers.
