Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin commented on the information about the movement of funds in his wallet, saying that he has not sold ETH for personal gain since 2018.

“If you see the article “Vitalik sends XXX ETH to the exchange,” then it is not me who is selling – these are donations to some charitable, non-profit or other project. It is the recipient who sells because he needs to cover expenses. I have not sold ETH for personal gain since 2018,” Buterin said.

Earlier, blockchain technology experts from PeckShield recorded a large transfer of USDC stablecoins worth about $15 million from a crypto wallet associated with Buterin to the account of the Gemini exchange.

Buterin recently criticized central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), calling them “interfaces to existing banking systems.” In his opinion, a national digital currency could provide ease of use for the population, but Buterin’s hopes for these projects did not materialize.
